Talent Cultivation Studio
Project Launch: 12-31-19
The Talent Cultivation Studio will train 20 young people in music and dance. The young people will be divided into dancers, drummers, singers, and poets. After the project, participants will be linked to the media and art management agencies that will feature the young artists through local festivals, shows, and concerts. The studio will also record and produce art for community members in order to generate income and maintain the space. This project will equip the youth with skills that will help them desist from prostitution and substance abuse.
Project Update: 1-31-21
The Talent Cultivation Studio project has used the $6,790.41 grant from World Connect to purchase musical instruments used to train 16 participants in various musical skills. The project which commenced in February 2020 has since hit a wall as their studio got robbed and all equipment was stolen in the act. Most participants hence are reported to have dropped out of the project both due to the COVID19 pandemic and lack of equipment. Currently the project is in the process of exploring ways of linking the remaining participants to Art management agencies for growth for continued learning and talent cultivation.
