Peanut Processing Unit in Maka Mbaye
Project Launch: 7-6-20
This community organization plans to build a facility to transform groundnuts into oil as an income generating enterprise. Biproducts will be transformed into livestock feed and soap, additional products that can be sold to generate income. The procurement of an electric machine to press peanuts into oil will reduce chronic pain the women experience from the manual labor process. 38 women will be engaged in the business and will be responsible for various tasks along the value chain such as purchasing groundnuts, shelling, sorting, steaming, and finally processing and bottling.
