Chigodi Community Based Child -Care center (CBCC)
Project Launch: 10-24-24
With an investment of $6,113.42, the Chiponda Village Development Committee, located in the area of Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa district, plans to implement an education project by constructing a modern Community-Based Childcare Center (CBCC). This new structure will replace the current facility, which is in poor condition. The project aims to attract more children to the center, reduce illiteracy among under-five children, and increase the current enrollment of 93 children (47 females and 46 males). Additionally, the new CBCC, featuring a cement floor, will help reduce common infections like the flu and runny noses, which are prevalent due to the existing mud floor.
Project Update: 1-16-25
The Chigodi CBCC construction in Chiponda Village, T/A Msakambewa, has made significant strides and is now at the roofing stage. The school, designed to provide a learning space for 230 children, has had its walls completed, along with installed window and door frames. With only flooring, skirting, and painting left and is expected to be completed by March 2025. The project promises to improve early childhood education by providing a safe and conducive learning environment, setting children on the path to primary education. The Chiponda community is grateful for Mudzi Connect's support in making this project a reality.
