Women's Advisory Committee
Project Launch: 8-25-21
Located in the Imbabura province, Wichana Foundation provides technical and financial support to community-led initiatives in health, culture and education. Currently, each project partner operates in a largely independent manner within their community. This project will create and develop a Women’s Advisory Committee made up of a woman representative of each partner project. The Committee will act as a container for the women to provide and receive valuable and in-depth support regarding the community project that each one leads. The year-long process will include: 1) technical assessment, evaluation and consultation on community projects, 2) cultivation of each member’s leadership and personal transformation process, 3) promotion of collaboration, reciprocity and solidarity between projects and communities, reducing project competition or repeating projects, and 4) advising the Wichana Foundation’s Board of Directors about community needs, as well as how the Board can most effectively help local projects address those needs.
