Zabwino Women Seed Multipliers
Project Launch: 7-29-19
The Zabwino Seed Multipliers is a women-led sweet potato vine multipliers club in Malawi. The women plan to expand into commercial seed multiplication of potatoes, soybeans, and beans, which are in high demand annually during planting season. With this grant, the Zabwino Seed Multipliers will build a low cost Diffuse Light System, a storage facility where grown seeds will be left to mature. The grant will also support farm inputs, training on managing markets and agronomic practices for the three crops. Through this project the women will generate their own income and establish home gardens with the multiplied seeds to improve household nutrition.
