Improved Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Education (WASHED) in Kpachelo (I WASHED Kpachelo)
Project Launch: 10-28-23
The Civil society and Institutional Foundation under the I WASHED Kpachelo project will complete a 2 unit classroom block and a mechanized borehole at Kpachelo E/A Primary School. Both of these projects were commenced by the community prior to the grant but were later halted due to lack of adequate funds. With this grant, the community, which has already contributed GHS 10,500 in the past, will lead the completion of the classroom block through plastering, painting and connecting the structure to the electrical grid. Simultaneously, the community will also finish the borehole installation which was abandoned soon after drilling. This multifaceted project will provide a conducive learning environment to students who are currently learning under trees. Additionally, the project will improve access to quality water services which will reduce the spread of waterborne diseases in the area. A total of 836 people (383 males and 453 females) and 37 pupils are expected to benefit from the mechanized borehole and classroom blocks respectively.
