Project Launch: 12-13-17

In Zambia’s Luapula Provence, community health workers (CHWs) are trained to work in their respective rural communities to provide wrap-around health services for pregnant mothers and their newborns during the antenatal period. Local CHWs are trained by Safe Motherhood 360+ in coordination with the Zambian Ministry of Health. Aside from delivering basic medical care, referrals to advanced services, counseling and care coordination, CHWs also provide vital statistical information on their communities that is largely used to shape policy and service delivery.

Safe Motherhood 360+ staff has identified a need to perform capacity building measures to expand understanding of data collection, M&E basics, and statistics application by CHWs to improve data validity and accuracy. This project seeks funds to provide educational programming for CHWs to improve their understanding and practical application of basic data collection and reporting measures.
