Chiwamba Bee Keeping Project
Project Launch: 8-29-24
Chiwamba Beekeeping Cooperative will utilize $5,722.44 to expand its beekeeping operations from the current 170 to 270 beehives to boost productivity. Additionally, the cooperative plans to expand its membership from 43 (23 women and 20 men) to 90, focusing on engaging youth and young women. These new members will be organized into three clubs, each supported with beekeeping startup kits. The project is expected to enhance TAYODE’s processing capacity by procuring 100 modern langstroth beehives and additional honey processing equipment. Furthermore, the initiative will provide training in beekeeping production and business management, including group dynamics and mentorship. The project will also involve planting 1,500 trees and securing stable markets for the youth.
