Building Under-five Clinic for a child well being
Project Launch: 12-8-22
Led by Philmon Kuipa, a YALI RLC alumnus, Legacy foundation will work with community members of Chimpumphulu in Lilongwe district to construct an under-five clinic. The clinic is expected to ease the burden that the community members currently have of covering a 20 km distance to accessing under five clinic services from a nearest health facility in area 25. In addition to the under-five services, the clinic will also offer basic medication to adults. People from 350 households with over 2000 people are expected to benefit from this clinic once completed.
Project Update: 5-30-23
Legacy Foundation is successfully leading the construction of an under-five clinic in Chimpumbulu village in Lilongwe City, with the structure currently at beam level while other critical materials such as iron sheets and cement have been pre-purchased. The remaining phase of the project will include roofing, plastering and painting. Once constructed, the project will conduct village clinics twice a week and provide other health services in family planning and immunization and growth monitoring for children under five years approximately impacting over 2000 people.
