She Thrives Project
Project Launch: 3-7-22
Virtuous Ladies from Kone in the Central Region of Ghana will use $3,783.33 to train teenage mothers from Ekone, Cape Coast Municipality, Central Region of Ghana in sewing and making beads. The project aims at empowering the young women to earn income from selling their products so that they can fend for themselves and their children. The project was necessitated by the high incidence of teen pregnancies in Ekone which forces many young girls to drop out of school. As a result, the young women are dependent on abusive men who lure these girls into transactional sex. Therefore, this project will provide an alternative source of income to the young women in a community where economic opportunities are scarce.
