NATAL CARES COMMUNITY PROJECT
Project Launch: 8-19-21
Imafon is rural community located in Akure North under the local government of Ondo State in Nigeria. This community has a population of 200,000 people, with approximately 150,000 low income households. There is only one sub-standard healthcare center in the community that has limited resources and low staffing. Natal Cares aims to directly address maternal and infant mortality in the Community by training frontline healthcare workers as traditional birth attendants, distributing birth delivery kits to pregnant women and registering pregnant women for the Natal Cares Mobile Healthcare Platform to receive live saving healthcare information about symptoms of prenatal conditions and remedies. These messages will accompany the pregnant women in this community throughout their pregnancy journey.
