Bihanga's Wholesale Business
Project Launch: 10-29-19
After completing a goal-setting exercise, Bihang residents identified increasing average household income for the community as their most pressing need. After conducting a feasibility study on the various project ideas brainstormed, (including a cattle rearing, a goat rearing, a wholesale business, and a motor transport business) the community ultimately elected to launch a wholesale business. Participants will use a World Connect grant of $8,000 to build a structure to house their business and stockpiles goods to be sold. The grant will also provide start-up capital for their village savings fund. The income generated from sales will improve household income, thereby allowing Bihanga families to purchase additional food items, make improvements on their homes, and pay for their children to go to school.
