ELLIS serves a student body of 16 to 21-year olds. Most are newly arrived immigrants and English language learners with interrupted or otherwise limited formal educations. A group of 6 Ellis students participated in a World Connect Internship every Tuesday during the 2016-17 school year. They chose to learn about the Philippines and a World Connect project in Roxas City. Through the project, the community purchased a motorcycle sidecar so that mobile teachers, who travel into rural communities to offer classes, have material and technology to make learning more engaging and effective!
