Rimau Skill Acquisition Hub
Project Launch: 1-8-21
In the past two years, Rimau community in Kajuru local government has served as a safe haven for internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the farmer-herder conflict in the southern part of Kaduna State. The Rimau Skill acquisition Hub is designed to improve the social and economic well-being of the internally displaced persons through vocational education and training of women and young girls. The overarching goal is to fast track the rehabilitation, stabilization and reintegration process of IDPs in the conflict-ridden region while arming them with skills for financial independence. The project aims to train 10 beneficiaries in tailoring, who in turn can train other women on this skill, improving employability prospects and supporting job creation and self-employment while creating a safe space for women and girls to learn with one another.
