Application of tailoring skillsets towards job creation
Project Launch: 12-31-69
This project will take place at the Karama IDP model village community outside of Kigali by providing economic opportunities through tailoring. The initiative, supported by the Ubwiza Design Karama organization, seeks to leverage a tailoring training previously received by community members to establish a sustainable tailoring business. With a grant of $979.20 and additional community coinvestment, the group will purchase essential equipment like sewing machines and materials, scale up production of clothing and accessories, and enhance skillsets through additional training. The project will provide local employment and improve livelihoods, especially for women and young people. The project also emphasizes community involvement, environmental responsibility, and financial management, with long-term goals of fostering savings, self-reliance, and community development.
