Karama Produce Business
Project Launch: 11-25-24
The Karama Produce Business project aims to combat malnutrition and improve livelihoods at Karama IDP Model Village through a sustainable food distribution enterprise. Spearheaded by the Abadahigwa mu Mihigo Block C group, the initiative seeks to establish a wholesale and retail business for nutritious foods, including vegetables, fruits, and eggs, to meet local dietary needs and create employment opportunities. With a coinvestment of $4,773.72 from World Connect, the project will fund storage facilities, equipment, and initial stock purchases. By providing affordable access to healthy food and raising awareness about balanced diets, the initiative aspires to reduce malnutrition rates and enhance the community’s economic resilience through job creation and improved incomes.
