Twitekurusobe Beekeeping Cooperative
Project Launch: 11-19-24
The Modern Beekeeping Promotion Project in Mucucu Village aims to improve livelihoods and combat poverty through sustainable honey production. Led by the Twitekurusobe rw'Ibinyabuzima Cooperative, the initiative will equip members with modern beekeeping skills and tools to increase honey yield and quality. With a grant of $5,907.74 from World Connect and a coinvestment of $1,901.46 from the community, the project will fund modern beehives, honey processing equipment, and training programs. By introducing eco-friendly practices and promoting the inclusion of women, the project seeks to generate income, strengthen food security, and enhance biodiversity through pollination. The cooperative will ensure sustainability by reinvesting profits, expanding member participation, and maintaining environmental stewardship.
