World Connect Ecuador

Co-creating sustainable change in Ecuador by investing in local communities' priorities and resources.

World Connect
Ecuador Overview

World Connect Ecuador partners with diverse networks of local Ecuadorian communities to address their most pressing challenges. We center the voices of historically-marginalized groups, such as indigenous and Afro-Ecuadorian communities, in leading sustainable change for their communities.

Since 2012, World Connect Ecuador has invested £132,000 into 41 community-led projects, towards which communities have co-invested £58,000 and raised an additional £148,000 from other sources. These projects are designed and implemented by local community groups across the coastal, sierra, and Amazonian regions of Ecuador. Our methodology leads to skills growth, expanded trust and unity, and localized development leadership to address local challenges with sustainable solutions that continue beyond the seed investment from World Connect Ecuador.

Our primary areas of co-investment are in economic opportunity, agroecology, environmental protection, indigenous and women empowerment, health, and cultural revitalization.
